We offer a free Dutch language and culture program to help you feel confident and prepared. This 4-month training takes place at our OTTO Health Care Academy in the Netherlands, so you will already be immersed in your new environment from day one.

Tasks
  • Personal care: Assisting with washing, dressing, eating, and daily living activities (ADL).
  • Medication administration: Administering medication according to prescription and monitoring intake, including high-risk medications.
  • Nursing tasks: Wound care, Catheter care, Stoma care, Injections, and other complex nursing procedures.
  • Observation & reporting: Identifying changes in health and wellbeing and reporting in the Electronic Client File (ECD).
  • Documentation: Registering provided care and special observations accurately.
  • Guidance & support: Providing emotional and social support to clients.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues, nurses, doctors, therapists, and informal caregivers.
  • Promoting independence: Encouraging clients to do as much as possible on their own.
  • Working according to care plans: Following protocols and implementing agreed care plans.
  • Problem‐solving & escalation: Recognizing issues and consulting nurses or physicians when needed.
What does your day look like?

Day shift: You start in the community, providing care such as ADL, wound care, medication, and catheter care.

Midday: Around 13:30–14:00, your route in the neighborhood is completed, and you head to the office for administrative tasks or consultations with doctors and other professionals.
Evening shift: You begin with office tasks and meetings, then go into the community to provide the same nursing care.

  • Wound care needs (handled by VIG/Nurse)

  • Behavioral changes such as restlessness or confusion

What do we ask from you?
Required
  • Nursing diploma (Bachelor degree).
  • Experience in elderly care is welcome.
  • Willingness to learn Dutch.
  • Motivation, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.

  • A driving license (helpful but not required)
What do we offer?
  • Dutch language & culture training through OTTO Health Care.
  • A permanent contract at Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland after the onboarding period.
  • Salary according to CAO VVT:
    • Starting at FWG 30 – €3,124.01.
    • After BIG registration and positive evaluations: growth to FWG 45 – €3,557.41.
  • Pension, holiday allowance, and leave according to CAO
  • Up to 36 hours per week.
  • Internal training and development via Zonnehuis Academy.
  • Possibility to grow toward BIG registration in the future.
  • Worklocation: Amstelveen, Amsterdam (Buitenveldert), Ouder-Amstel or De Ronde Venen (Mijdrecht, Vinkeveen)
